You can download a complete copy of your FacultyDex data at any time. We support two distinct exports — pick the one that matches what you actually need.
Profile data export (free)
From the dashboard, open Settings → Export my data. You'll get a JSON file with:
- Account info (email, name, sign-up date).
- Profile (every field, including drafts).
- Site config (template, color scheme, custom domain, enabled pages).
- All content: publications, news, press mentions, lab members, awards, grants, education, experience, presentations, courses, service.
- Custom pages including their full Puck JSON.
- Pending autofetch items.
This is the right export if you're complying with a GDPR data-portability request, moving your data to another tool, or just want a backup.
HTML site export (Pro)
From the dashboard, open Tools → HTML export. You'll get a zip file with a static HTML rendering of your live site — every page, all the assets, ready to host anywhere. See HTML site export for details.
Use this when you want a portable copy of the website rather than the underlying data.
What's NOT exported
- Sign-in tokens, passkeys, and active session data.
- Subscription / billing records — request these from Stripe or Apple directly.
- Server logs and analytics events — these are aggregate-only and deleted on a 90-day rotation.
- Other users' data, even if they're on your lab page (only the public fields they consented to).
Frequency limits
We don't currently rate-limit exports. If you want a daily snapshot for your own archives, the Settings → Export my data button is fine to use as often as you'd like.
