Install and sign in

Last updated: May 3, 2026

The FacultyDex iOS app gives you the same content management as the web dashboard, plus convenient access to autofetch approvals, AI CV parsing, and quick photo uploads.

Where to download

During the beta period, the app is available via TestFlight. After public release, it'll be on the App Store. Email us at dan@facultydex.org with the email address you'd like to use for TestFlight, and we'll add you to the test group.

Sign-in options

On first launch, the app shows a sign-in screen with three options:

  • Sign in with Apple — fastest. Uses your iPhone's biometric and your existing Apple ID. You can opt to share or hide your real email address.
  • Continue with Google — opens a Google sign-in sheet. Same OAuth flow as the web.
  • Email magic link — type your email; we send a link that opens in the iOS app via Universal Links.

If you already have a FacultyDex account on the web, sign in with the same email and the app picks up your existing data — there's no separate iOS account.

Setting up a passkey for next time

After signing in once, go to Settings → Passkeys → Add a passkey. Your iPhone will use Face ID or Touch ID to register a passkey. From then on, you can sign in with one tap — no email, no password, no link to wait for. Passkeys also sync to your other Apple devices via iCloud Keychain.

Multiple accounts

The app supports one account at a time. To switch accounts, go to Settings → Sign out and sign in with the other account. There's no in-app account switcher (yet).

Troubleshooting

  • Magic link opens in Safari instead of the app — the app's Universal Links registration takes a few seconds to take effect after install. Wait a minute, then tap the link again.
  • Sign in with Apple loops back to sign-in screen — your Apple ID may not have a verified email. Check Settings → Apple ID on your iPhone.
  • Passkey "no credentials available" — you set up the passkey on a different Apple ID than the one currently signed into iCloud. Sign into the matching iCloud account and try again.
